With the warm weather on it is way, or perchance already there (depending on where you live), plans for summer vacation are being discussed everywhere. One of the most mutual types of summer vacation plans is camping.

If you have ever done much camping you know there are a few things you need to fetch with you. A couple of years ago, I added in an extra accessory that made our camping trip when it comes to ten times more fun.

Since our camp website was right along side a pretty lake, besides our regular tent, gear and food, we brought along an inflatable kayak to mix things up a little bit. Bringing along the kayak was such a hit that we ended up spending the majority of our days padding around in it.

There are various vantages to owning an inflatable kayak as opposed to a rigid kayak such as:

  • An inflatable effortlessly packs up into it is storage bag and may be transported in the trunk of your car.
  • They are exceedingly stable and in fact are near out of the question to sink or tip. Consequently they are perfective for kids or for those who do not have much experience out on the water.
  • They are inexpensive. Although the price range may vary primarily it is no problem getting a good quality model for not a lot of money.
  • They may effortlessly pack away in a little space or a closet.

My Initial Purchase

Initially I purchased my inflatable kayak strictly for my own use and after researching various boats, I decisive on a solo model However after bringing it along camping, I may see that a tandem model would also have been very utile as then more than one person at a time could have been out enjoying it. I guess my friends will just have to buy their own for next time!

The kayak was such a hit that allround our week long camping trip we had all sorts of people and families asking in regards to it and checking it out. It would be perfective for those with children and if you are used to renting your water crafts, after less than one season of use, an inflatable will normally have remunerated for itself.

Very Little Upkeep

Having done a reasonable amount of kayaking in the past but always with a hard-shell kayak, I became instantaneously thrilled with the very little amount of work involved with an inflatable model.

Besides drying it out and packing it up there is not much else to do. Set-up is very easy with a regular foot pump and with my model takes among five and eight minutes.

I may see that it is going to get well employed and mistreated summer after summer on our regular camping trips.

If you are fascinated in an inflatable kayak yourself, I would commend reading the dissimilar user reviews before purchasing to get an idea of how well each model performs and lasts.

4Foot pump
By Sebastian Orozco
My complaints aren’t to many. its is a little uncomfortable using your foot. Ir is plastic underneath so it doesn’t hold a lot of friction with the ground and it slides sometimes. But in general it is a good pump. I used with my inflatable boat and it was just fine.

4Pretty good little pump
By Silas Fitzsimmons
It’s a good pump. A little large, but not bad. About as big around as a dinner plate. It has several different nozzles that hang right where you need them. My wife and I use them for our inflatable kayaks and they inflate in a hurry. My only complaint is the pump nozzles often fall off the kayak nozzles whenever you let go of them, which makes working the foot pump a little awkward by yourself. But if I had to buy a pump again, I would go with this one.

2Cheap… falling apart right out of the package.
By EH in Salt Lake
I wouldn’t recommend this product. It was falling apart from the moment I opened it. There is a metal ring that is supposed to hold the bellows in place–it was always loose on the one I bought. It’s cheap and can be repaired easily. Although why would you want to buy something that you would need to repair right out of the box?
